Today, people visit sacral sites not just for religious purposes. The number of tourists interested in the historical and cultural component of traditional pilgrimage routes is growing. It is important to develop a timely strategy for tourist flows management and the sites to ensure the quality of services provided, and the safety of tourists, as well as to preserve sacred and historical sites in the long term.
The session participants will discuss the plans and challenges that destinations face, and the results achieved by territorial administrations of different countries having cultural and historical monuments.

Researchers will discuss the legacy of Sufi tariqats such as Kubrawiya, Naqshbandiya, and Yasawiya. Their roles in the history and culture of the peoples of Central Asia, rethinking their heritage and impact on contemporary culture. Critical analysis of the works of Isma'ilu Ata "Khadihat al-Arifin".
The key challenges facing heritage management in Central Asia. The session will serve as a platform for discussion of global issues such as climate crisis, pandemic, and regional instability as well as local problems (rapidly shifting priorities, funding, reassessment of importance) to identify the best ways to advance. The experts will stress the importance of local communities and a range of actors in decision-making, as well as the importance of long-term management planning based on values.
The participants will discuss current effective practices in promoting tourism destinations, peculiarities of tourism promotion at sacred sites, and the most appropriate marketing strategies and tools to attract tourists during this session.

A radical revision of approaches in the development of tourist areas, services, new standards in the hospitality industry, as well as the development of new routes, tours, retraining of guides and instructors, digitalization and tasks to promote the tourist potential of our country lead to special demand for professional training of industry workers for youth. This session designed to be an educational experience exchange between international and Kazakh educational institutions, as well as relevant experts.
The scholars, researchers of Sufism will discuss the legacy of Khoja Ahmed Yasawi. His influence on the revival of Turkic culture on a global scale, and the formation of Sufi tariqats in Islam, resulting in the renaissance of various cultures of the Muslim peoples of the world.
Experts in the restoration of heritage sites will share practical experiences and discuss the most advanced methods of preserving the world's monuments of architecture in their elements, such as load-bearing structures, wooden doors, textiles, and other aspects. Рarticular, the reconstruction methods used in Azerbaijan, Turkey, Kazakhstan, Tatarstan, and Uzbekistan will be discussed as an exchange of experience. The session will result in a list of necessary recommendations for further preservation of the Khoja Ahmed Yassawi Mausoleum.
This discussion examines issues related to the translation of 'Diwani Hikmet' into the Kazakh language, their differences and particularities. Also, the influence of "Diwani Hikmet" on the formation of Kazakh literature and spiritual culture and discussion of manuscript versions of "Diwani Hikmet" in the manuscript funds of Tajikistan and Iran.

The jewel of the Silk Road is the city of Turkistan
. It is one of the most ancient cities in Kazakhstan and Central Asia. Founded in 490 it reached its prosperity period in the 12th century. Surrounded by powerful fortifications, Turkistan was the administrative center of Central Asian rulers such as dynasty of Khoresm shahs, Mongols, Timurids and Shaybanids. In the 16th – 18th centuries it was the capital of Kazakh khanate standing on the joint between nomadic and settled cultures, the crossroads of trade routes. The city witnessed majestic ceremonies of enthronement of khans with the attendance of representatives of other states.
The glory of the city spread all over the world due to Khoja Ahmed Yasawi, a dervish, Sufi preacher and poet, who lived in the city. Amir Timur (233 years later) ordered to erect a majestic mausoleum above the saint's modest tomb. The mausoleum turned into a place of pilgrimage. People believed that a threefold pilgrimage to the mausoleum was equivalent to a hajj to Mecca. Thus, Turkistan earned the fame of a Muslim sacred place. This unique architectural construction was inscribed to the UNESCO World Heritage List.
Khoja Ahmed Yassawi mausoleum is an unsurpassed masterpiece of medieval architecture. It is an amazing complex of palaces and temples consisting of 30 various rooms and halls. The external diameter of the main dome is more than 40 m, its circumference - 130 m, the height of minarets - 12 m. The elegance of the decor, the patterns of ceilings and colored mosaic are strikingly beautiful. The monument has been restored to its original condition and is protected by the state. Everyone has a chance to admire the jewel of Medieval Orient in the city of Turkistan.
